What is a UN certified big bag?

A UN certified big bag is an FIBC that meets the test standards set by the United Nations for international transportation of dangerous goods. Different classes are available as UN 13H1-H4.

Which materials require UN certified big bags?

Chemicals classified as dangerous goods, flammable solids, oxidizers, toxic substances and environmentally hazardous materials require UN certified big bags. The full list is specified in IMDG and ADR regulations.

What is the difference between UN 13H1 and UN 13H3?

UN 13H1 is an open-top big bag made from woven polymer fabric. UN 13H3 is made from plastic film. H1/H2 are textile-based, H3/H4 are film-based. H1/H3 are open top, H2/H4 are fully enclosed designs.

What are UN big bag tests?

For UN certification, drop test (1.2m), stacking test (28 days), lifting test (6× capacity load), tear test and righting test after drop are applied.

What do ADR and IMDG mean?
